⏳ 🐟🎬 The Source Underneath The Bunker (2022)

The stream starts in a bunker and ends in the parliament. The stream is a cyborg: all its course has been modified by human will. It’s born in a concrete source, flowing from the cement scars to the pipes, crossing through gardens of embassies and epuration station, barely catching a breath in a public park before sinking back into the ground. Crushed by the grand canal it needs its own pump - steel prothesis grafted on its snake body - to return to the surface. It ends in the parliament. From bunker to parliament, from war scars to power wires.

As an artist initiating collective practices,

I consider art and design as tools to reflect on other organisation of societies.

Through my projects, I explore narratives that aim to engage political reflection, in connection with socio-environmental issues, as well as to create a space for participation, sharing and debate, relationship and common.

I worked on these themes in my Master's project « The Butcher » (2023), building a collective fiction with the participant and the public. We used narratives tools such as theatre in order to think about the social and political situation of the world.

I especially use animal representations (anthropomorphism and zoomorphism), as tools which complicate the classification and the separation of beings, and the associated stereotypes. It is besides a way to reflect on relationships with the living beings, the common and the rebellion.

My stories are those of resistances, real or imagined. For intance, Aujourd'hui is a wild animal, Specifically commissioned for the exhibition « Compulsives Desires » (Porto Municipal Gallery), the painting showcase scenes from Covas de Barroso (Portugal), Hambach Forest (Germany) and Lota (Chile). In contrast to the mining industry's logic of subjugating the mountain and its inhabitants, these stories depict the mountain, its forces, and beasts fighting extractivism and countering its defuturing effects through indignation, revenge, celebration, and desire.
